Small booklet about the perched village of Gourdon in French and English

Gourdon is one of the official “Most Beautiful Villages of France.” It’s about a 40 minute drive from Vence and if you’re anywhere in the area I would highly suggest you try to schedule a visit. It’s a beautiful little village perched high on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Loup River. It can be quite busy in the tourist season but if you visit in the early morning or late afternoon you’ll find it a bit less crowded. It’s a tiny village but there are several restaurants and a variety of interesting little shops and boutiques.

This small booklet, written by Paul Saintville, was published in 1926 by Louis Carestia in Grasse. The 32 pages cover the village, the church, the castle, the nearby chapels and more. I found it at Galerie Librairie Basse Fontaine a fantastic old and rare book store in Vence. They have a huge collection of books, posters and more. If you love old books definitely stop by when you are in Vence.
