A small 8 page booklet with information and a map about the small village of Entrevaux located north of Nice in the Var Valley.
Entrevaux is one of my favorite villages in France. Recently it was added to the network of the “official” Most Beautiful Villages of France. I’ve been there numerous time and I’ve written about the village in depth on this website. It’s a wonderful place to visit and there are plenty of things to do and see there.
From Vence it takes about 1 1/2 hours by car to reach the village, but the drive alone is worth the trip as you travel northwest along the Var River. It lies in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, right on the border of the Alpes-Maritimes department.
This little booklet doesn’t have a date on it anywhere, but it references another publication from 1984 so I’m guessing it is from either the late 1980s or early 1990s. It was most likely sold at the Tourist Office in the village. It contains eight pages that fold up into one page 15cm wide by 21cm tall. It was created for the ACI – Entrevaux: Association Culturelle Intervalles (the Entrevaux: Cultural Association Intervals).
The booklet contains some general information about the history of the village and various things to see along with a variety of black and white photographs. There’s also a nice hand-drawn map of the village with a list of the main landmarks.
Here are the 5 main subjects covered in the booklet:
1. The Ramparts
2. The Village
3. The Castle
4. The Cathedral
5. Other Landmarks
The booklet is in French but I have created an English version as well.
