Vence is our home in France, and we can’t imagine living anywhere else! We first discovered this wonderful little town almost 20 years ago, and we kept coming back whenever we could. Sometimes we’d stay for a few weeks, other times for several months, renting apartments or staying in hotels. With each visit, we fell a little more in love with the place, until eventually we decided to make it our permanent home on May 30, 2019.
For us, Vence is just about the perfect French town. Not too big, not too small. We’re only 20 minutes from the Mediterranean and about an hour from the mountains. There are wonderful, friendly people, terrific local shops, restaurants, markets, and just about everything we could possibly need. We can step outside our apartment and walk to almost anything in less than five minutes. There are tourists, of course, but nothing like the crowds you’ll find along the coast. There’s always something happening, yet Vence has managed to retain the character and charm of a real, working French town. We love exploring the Côte d’Azur, but we’re always happy to come home to Vence.
Below you’ll find our articles about exploring and enjoying Vence, from walking tours and local attractions to festivals, markets, and some of our favorite discoveries. We hope they help you fall in love with this wonderful town, just as we did.
