Vence has always been divided into various neighborhoods and some of those neighborhoods lie on what we might consider the outskirts of the town. I’ve collected postcards on this page which feature some of those neighborhoods.
Years ago these neighborhoods were a bit more isolated, with lots of empty space between them and the main part of town. Today, as the town has grown, it’s hard to really distinguish where one area begins and another ends. Most of the land has been developed and filled in with houses and other buildings.
The Château de Domaine St Martin, featured here on 3 cards, is an old Templar castle that is now a luxury five star hotel and spa, the Château Saint-Martin.
