Location: Aerial Views of Town – 10 postcards.
I don’t think aerial photography was much of a thing in the early 20th century. Flying was a brand new experience and photography was still in its infancy. As time passed and both technologies matured it became more common.
There are only a few postcards in this section. The color one are obviously from after World War II when many of the current apartment complexes in Vence were built. The black and white postcards looks to be the earliest and I think they pre-date the war. They all provide a fascinating look at Vence from the sky and it’s interesting to see how the town has changed and grown over the years.
