This version of the magazine for Vence residents published by the city dates from sometime in early to mid 1989 to at least summer of 1993. The first issue I have is dated September 1989 and marked as n° 3, so we know there are at least two earlier issues. The last issue is dated May 1993 and marked as n° 18. I don’t know how many more issues of this version were published before the next iteration which was named “La Lettre du Maire.” The only issue I have from that version is dated May 1994 and is marked as n° 6. Which leads me to believe there weren’t very many issues of “Vence Magazine” after n° 18. This version of the magazine evolved quite a bit from 1989 to 1993, going from a black and white publication with some spot color to a much more professionally designed layout with a full color cover.

Vence Magazine – N° 3 – September 1989
1989 / French
Paper
8 pages / 21cm x 30cm
This issue is from September 1989 and is marked n°3. The pages are not numbered and they are not stapled together, so I can’t be absolutely certain if the eight pages I have comprise the entire magazine, but the articles flow correctly from one page to another so I believe that there are indeed only eight pages. It contains articles about the new school year, the sister city of Lahnstein, Germany, urban planning, art exhibitions and more.

1990 / French
Paper

From issue n° 3 to issue n° 6 the “Vence Magazine” has made quite a leap. The magazine is much longer (24 pages instead of just 8) and the design and layout has improved dramatically. This issue contains articles and information about the Vence Tourist Office, the Vence Fire Department, efforts to keep the city clean, the Vence music school, the Vence Tennis Club, the La Brissaudo museum and more.
